BANK-SHIELD
Under the BANK-SHIELD
brand name, Bassan Renzo patented a covering for river banks.
The BANK-SHIELD is the outcome of natural engineering, the
technology at the service of the mankind, respecting the
environment.
Characteristics: The BANK-SHIELD
covering is built with concrete panels measuring m
1.00x3.00x0.15, weighing about 700 Kg, reinforced with 14 Kg of
iron trestles. The panels can be put next or on the top of each
other along the bank. The lower side has four points while the
upper side has mating grooves. The body has nine hollow pockets,
that must be filled with good soil and sown. The pockets help the
drainage of the underlying ground and the growth of the greenery
that in a short time completely hides the covering. For terrains
rich in fine silt the use of a filtering substrate of non woven
polyester fabric is highly recommended.
Advantages: compared to traditional
bank protections with rocks or concrete slabs, the BANK-SHIELD
solution has a number of practical and aesthetic advantges. The
pockets help the growth of the grass, that in turn with its
roots forms a strong anchorage for the covering. The green
completely hides the concrete covering, restoring the natural
aspect of the area, and prevents the increase of the peripheral
speed of the water flow, avoiding erosions at the ends of the
covering. The points restrain the panel to the canal
bottom, making useless the construction of expensive curbs inside
the river bed. The mounting technique allows the easy
removal of the panels and to use them again in case of
moving or widening of the canal. The special hooking system
enables a single operator to complete the installation, using a
hydraulic excavator with a bucket for bank profiling and the
special hydraulic plier developed by us. Up to 600 sqm./day
can be laid using said equipment.
GE.CO.MA sas has already produced over 20000 pieces, installing bank coverings all around the North-East of Italy. The BANK-SHIELD is used and recommended to their own designers and contractors by the FFSS (Italian Railways), by the Società Autostrade (the society managing the main italian motorways), by the Civil Enginnering Force Authority of Veneto and by the Water Authority of Venice and Po river.

LOCULI
BLOCK 
The Loculi
Block follows the italian mortuary police decree DPR n. 285
from 10/09/1990, and carries the "declared mass
production" label, according to the rules of DM of
03/12/1987, adopted on 25/01/1991 with n. 34085 by the counsel of
the Department of Public Labours of the Italian government.
Characteristics: the Loculi
Block is a modular monolithic component with 2 or 4 coffin
holes. The standard version with 4 holes has an overall volume of
6.05 mc, a weight of 4.71 metric tons, and overall dimensions are
m 2.4x1.8x1.6. The holes internal size is m. 2.35x0.8x0.7,
following the reccommendations of the italian Ministry of Health.
The size of the form can be modified if foreign regulations are
different.
Advantages: compared to traditional
production techniques, using on-site molds or single-hole
prefabs, the Loculi Block distinguishes itself for
simplicity, precision and speed of installation, strenght of the
whole. The premolded joints help in the precise alignment
of the blocks. The grooves allow for minimum volume
concrete castings. The monolithicity coupled with the use
of waterproof and high resistance concrete authorize its use in 1st
class seismic areas (this is the highest risk category
under the italian classfication of seismic areas).
Options: the Loculi Block is
produced also in two special sizes, with 2 holes superposed or 2
holes side by side. Another smaller size 6 holes block is
available, the ideal solution for ossuaries and ashes
conservation.
GE.CO.MA sas has already produced over 10000 blocks, installing them in cemeteries all around the North-East of Italy.
